# Reservations

> Reserve a launch while the window is closed and build interest before your coin goes live.

When the launch window is **closed**, you can **reserve a launch** by prepaying **half the launch fee** (about \$250). It's how creators, teams and projects line up a launch and build interest before it goes live.

## What you get

* Your coin appears on the **Upcoming** page before it goes live.
* A **shareable card and QR code** to post anywhere.
* Traders can see what's coming in the next window and get ready for it.

## The rules

> [accordion] The deposit is non-refundable
>
> A reservation is a commitment, not an escrow. The deposit can't be returned.

> [accordion] Launch in the next window, or lose it
>
> You must finalise your launch during the **next** launch window. If you don't, the deposit is lost. This keeps the Upcoming page honest.

> [accordion] Pay only the rest at launch
>
> Your prepaid half counts towards the \$500 fee. At launch you pay the remaining half, plus any dev buy.

> [accordion] The pair and coin type are locked in
>
> What the coin trades against, and whether it's a Normal or Reward coin, are fixed when you reserve.

> [accordion] It's on-chain
>
> A reservation is a real on-chain record, so anyone can check it.

## How to reserve

**1. While the window is closed**

Open **Create** while the window is closed and fill in your coin's details.

**2. Pay the deposit**

Confirm the deposit (half the launch fee) in your wallet.

**3. Share it**

Post your card and QR code so people know when you're launching.

**4. Finalise in the next window**

When the window opens, finalise your launch and pay the rest of the fee.

> [!TIP]
>
> Turn on **Launch window** notifications so you don't miss the window your reservation needs. See [Alerts and notifications](https://docs.2hour.fun/alerts-and-notifications.md).
