Your account has a trading wallet on each chain. Convert moves value between their four main coins, usually in a few seconds: Stablecoins are designed to stay at $1, so they’re a way to step out of ETH or SOL’s price moves, for example overnight.

Where each coin can go

Each chain has its own coin and its own $1 stablecoin, and ETH and SOL connect the two chains:
  • ETH converts to SOL or USDG.
  • SOL converts to ETH or USDC.
  • USDG converts back to ETH, and USDC back to SOL.
Keeping each stablecoin on its own chain means you always still hold that chain’s coin to pay its network fees.

Lock in

At the top of Convert, Lock in turns all your ETH into USDG and all your SOL into USDC in one go, keeping a little ETH and SOL back for network fees. It’s made for the end of a good day: one tap, and your balance stops moving with ETH and SOL’s prices. To get back in, convert USDC or USDG back to SOL or ETH.

How to convert

1

Open Convert

In the wallet menu, tap Convert. Or, when you’re short as you buy, tap Convert from next to Add funds.
2

Pick the coins

Tap the coin to convert from, then the coin to go to.
3

Choose how much

Type an amount, or tap 25%, 50%, 75% or Max.
4

Check the quote and confirm

You see roughly what arrives, the least it can be, the fees in one total and how long it takes. Your trading wallet signs, and it usually lands within seconds.

Fees

The quote adds these up into one Fees total.
Examples: converting $100 of SOL to USDC lands about $99.70. Converting $100 of SOL to ETH, across the chains, lands about $99.20 to $99.40. The quote shows the exact figures before you confirm.

Trading with stablecoins

  • USDC and USDG: Solana coins paired with USDC can be bought with USDC directly, and Robinhood Chain coins paired with USDG with USDG.
  • Everything else: convert back to SOL or ETH first. When you’re short as you buy, the Buy button offers it in one tap.

Withdrawing stablecoins

USDC and USDG can be withdrawn like any other coin: tap Withdraw on its tile in Convert, or use Withdraw in the wallet menu. Always send on the right network: USDC on Solana, USDG on Robinhood Chain.

If the price moves

Every quote has a least it can be. If the price moves so far before the convert lands that you’d get less, the convert doesn’t happen and your coins are sent back to the wallet they came from.

Where your coins go

  • Only between your own wallets. A convert always goes from your trading wallet to your trading wallet. It can’t be pointed anywhere else.
  • You sign it. Every convert is a transaction your own trading wallet signs. 2hour.fun never holds your coins.
  • Checked before you sign. 2hour.fun reads every step of the transaction first and stops it if any step isn’t one a convert needs, or could take more than the amount you chose plus the quoted fees.
  • Relay does the work. Convert uses Relay to swap on one chain or pay out on the other.
Relay is an outside service, and stablecoins are only designed to stay at $1. Like any bridge or swap, things can go wrong. Only convert what you need, and see Risks.

Troubleshooting

Very small converts can’t cover the network costs. Try a bigger amount.
Converting USDG needs a little ETH, and converting USDC a little SOL, to pay the network. Keep a small amount of each.
Busy networks can slow it down. Convert keeps checking for about a minute and a half. If it still hasn’t landed, check your wallet’s History before converting again.
The price moved past the least it could be, so your coins went back. Get a fresh quote and try again.
